The Black Forest Trail is a 43.0-mile hiking trail in north-central Pennsylvania. The original Wandervögel hikers would go to Pennsylvania in early summer to hike among the mountain laurels. This weekend’s hike was no disappointment, with good weather over three days, ferns and blooming mountain laurel everywhere. There were some serious climbs with 8800 total feet of elevation, but rewarded with many streams and waterfalls.
