What a great way to start the New Year! Our first day hike was in French Creek State Park, which has been our tradition for many years. It was a beautiful day with the temperatures hovering in the upper twenties but with plenty of sunshine and a a nice covering of snow on the ground. We hiked about 1.7 miles up the Boone Trail to the Firetower pavilion where we enjoyed a warm fire, lots of great food and a few schnapps. It was great to see our old friends from the radio club there again this year. We finished our visit with an Andachtsjodler and set off back down the hill to Hopewell Lake.
